Egress Window Excavation

For new construction and remodeling, we can excavate the foundation, dig trenches to lay the pipes and connect the sewer, water, natural gas, and other utilities. We also plumb the building and install fixtures and appliances to finish the build.

Problems with your sewer or water lines?  We can excavate to lay new pipes or use trenchless methods with minimal excavation to repair or replace the damaged water or sewer pipes if necessary.

Trenchless Sewer Line Repair

A damaged sewer line can cause backups in your floor drains, showers and more. We can conduct a video camera inspection of sewer lines and diagnose the problem. We use specialized techniques like directional boring, pipe lining, pipe splitting, and pipe pulling to repair or replace damaged sewer lines without extensive digging. Site Development

Site development requires collaboration among various professionals, including excavators, engineers, and contractors. Their combined efforts ensure a well-prepared site for successful construction projects.

During the site planning phase, Trevor Friel, owner of Precision Underground, is actively involved inspecting the site’s condition and provides site preparation advice.

Excavating & Initial Grading

  • When development begins, Precision Underground clears the land of obstacles, including below-grade rocks, stumps, and demolition material.
  • Our excavation machinery digs trenches and removes soil to help create the desired site contours.
  • The site is carefully shaped according to the project requirements.

Utilities & Drainage

  • Precision Underground excavators dig trenches to install fire hydrants, sewer and water utilities.
  • The excavator operator builds out the surface draining infrastructure, including retention ponds, and drainage channels wherever necessary.

Site Clean-Up & Final Grade

  • Excavators are used to remove the remaining debris, rocks, and materials.
  • Grading ensures proper slope and drainage, preventing water accumulation against the foundation.
  • Our excavators can help with constructing sturdy and durable hardscapes and planting trees.

Commercial & Residential Utilities

We provide excavation services for installing underground utilities for commercial and residential customers using the latest techniques and equipment to ensure the project is completed safely and on time.

Installing water lines, fire hydrants, and sewer pipes using an excavator or directional boring involves several steps to ensure proper installation and functionality.

Survey and Planning

Before starting, we survey the area to determine the pipe route, depth, and potential obstacles.  Plan the trench layout, considering factors like soil type, pipe size, and required slope.

Trench Excavation

Our excavator digs a trench along the planned route. The trench depth is controlled to accommodate the pipe size and any required bedding material.

Bedding & Pipe Installation

The excavator lays a stable bedding material (such as sand or crushed stone) at the bottom of the trench, ensuring proper alignment and slope. Trevor Friel, a licensed pipe layer, assembles the pipe fittings and completes the installation.

Backfill and Compaction

Backfill around the pipes with excavated soil or approved material. The excavator bucket compacts the backfilled soil around the pipes. Proper compaction prevents settling and ensures stability. The surface is graded to meet specifications.

Excavation for Footings and Basements

Excavation plays a crucial role in new construction of footings or basements.  Excavation is also required for correcting foundation problems such as settling, cracks, and water leaks. Repairs are required to ensure the longterm stability and safety of your home or business.

New Construction

  • Soil conditions, project size, and local requirements influence the specific equipment and skills we use to properly excavate a basement or footing.
  • When digging for a basement or footings, our excavator efficiently removes soil, creating space for the foundation.
  • Our operators use various attachments, such as buckets, to dig and shape the area according to the construction plan.
  • We also provide full plumbing services from rough-in to finish plumbing.

Drainage Correction

Excavation around the foundation helps address water-related issues. This could include

  • Grade the Foundation Soil: Ensure the soil slopes away from the building.
  • French Drains: These subsurface drains redirect water away from the foundation.
  • Waterproofing Membranes: Excavation allows waterproofing membranes to be installed on the exterior walls.

Foundation Replacement

In severe cases, the entire foundation may need replacement, or its depth needs to be extended for added support. Excavation is necessary to remove the old foundation and carefully install a new one without damaging the rest of the structure.

Excavation for Utility Repairs

At Precision Underground LLC, we specialize in commercial and residential water and sewer utility repairs. Our team of experts has the knowledge and experience to provide exceptional services, from major excavation for commercial properties to utility repair for residential buildings.

Excavation helps locate and repair leaks in water pipes, fire hydrants, or sewer lines. When a leak occurs, excavating the affected area allows our technicians to access and fix the damaged pipe.

Pipe Replacement

Extraction is sometimes necessary to replace deteriorated or damaged water or sewer pipes with new ones. We carefully dig trenches along the affected line to expose the damaged section for repair or replacement. We also provide trenchless pipe repair and replacement.

Access to Utility Components

Excavation provides access to utility components, such as valves, manholes, and junction boxes, for maintenance or repairs. As a pipe layer and master plumber, we can repair water and sewer lines.

Backfilling and Compaction

After repairs, our excavator backfills the access point or trench with soil. We ensure proper compaction to prevent settling or future issues. Our goal is to leave the area in its original condition or better.

Dirt Work & Excavation

Precision Underground is your go-to source for all dirt work and excavating needs.  We are often called on to prepare a construction site before any actual construction can occur. This can involve various activities, including excavation, grading, compaction, and site preparation.  Our dirt work services includes grading, erosion control, excavations, and even the formation of a foundation for a pad site.

Our projects range from small residential jobs to large commercial projects and we handle each one with the same level of professionalism and care.

Directional Boring Machine

Directional Boring

Precision Underground LLC offers various options for the installation or replacement of underground utilities. Our team of experts has the equipment for excavating or trenchless methods.

Directional boring, or horizontal directional drilling (HDD), is a trenchless method for installing underground utilities like pipes, conduits, or cables.

Precision Underground’s directional boring minimizes surface disruption, making it ideal for under roadways, sidewalks, patios or below other utilities or through fragile ecosystems.

Egress Window Installation

The most significant labor component in egress window installation is excavation, which involves not only digging the dirt out but a corresponding effort in backfilling and hauling excess dirt away. The amount of dirt removed not only translates into cost, but also into potential risk to your foundation.

Excavation

We use a mini excavator to dig a hole according to your measurements. We ensure the hole is deep enough to accommodate the window well and the added drainage gravel.

Back Fill

Once the egress window is installed, we backfill and thoroughly compact the soil in layers. We ensure the finished grade slopes away from the window well to direct water away from the foundation.
