Repairing Leaky Faucets

After diagnosing the cause of the leak, we will fix or replace faulty faucet components, worn-out washers, gaskets, or O-rings.

Plumbing Fixture Installations

Precision Underground can install your new sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.

Low Water Pressure

Low water pressure in a home can manifest in several ways. Here are some common symptoms to look out for:

Weak Flow from Faucets: Water trickles out instead of flowing freely.
Slow-Filling Fixtures: Toilets, sinks, and bathtubs take longer to fill.
Weak Shower Pressure: Showers have a weak spray or reduced water flow.
Inconsistent Water Pressure: Water pressure fluctuates, sometimes being strong and other times weak.
Long Wait Times for Hot Water: It takes longer for hot water to reach the faucets or shower.
Spitting or Sputtering Noises: Air in the pipes can cause water to come out in spurts.

If you’re experiencing any of these issues, call us, and we will check for common causes like clogged aerators, closed valves, or issues with the water pressure regulator. Or a worse case may be a crushed water line leading to your home. We can detect and fix that as well.

Garbage Disposal Problems

Jams or malfunctions can disrupt your kitchen routine.

Burst Pipes

If you suspect a burst pipe, it’s important to shut off the water supply and contact us for plumbing services immediately to prevent further damage. We will find and repair or replace the leaking pipe.

Several factors can cause a pipe to burst. Here are some common causes:
Freezing Temperatures: Especially during cold weather, water pipes can freeze and burst, causing major flooding.
Tree Roots: Roots can grow into pipes, especially older ones, and create pressure that leads to cracks or bursts.
Corrosion and Rust: Metal pipes can corrode and weaken over time, making them more susceptible to bursting.
Clogs: Blockages can build up pressure inside pipes, leading to a burst.
High Water Pressure: Excessively high water pressure can put too much stress on pipes, causing them to burst.
Accidental Damage: Physical damage from construction, digging, or heavy objects can cause pipes to break.
Shifting Soil: Changes in soil conditions, such as settling or erosion, can put pressure on underground pipes.
Hard Water: Mineral deposits from hard water can accumulate inside pipes, weakening them over time.

Sewer & Drain Cleaning

Sewer and drain cleaning are essential plumbing services to keep your pipes flowing smoothly. Precision Underground Plumbing Services is equipped to unclog a toilet or unclog a shower drain and remove blockages from a clogged sink, clogged floor drain or any drain in your plumbing system.

Drain Snaking

We often use a long, flexible cable with a corkscrew-like auger to break up clogs or grab onto obstructions, allowing us to pull it out when retracting the snake from a drain pipe or sewer line. Whether you call it snaking, cabling, or augering, it’s a reliable method for handling tough clogs that can’t be cleared with a plunger. We use different sizes for unclogging drain pipes and sewer lines.

Hydro-Jetting

Our high-pressure sewer jetter can clean and clear out severe clogs, corrosion, and debris from sewer pipes.  Hydrojetting can also remove the snags that lead to frequent blockages. Hydrojet drain cleaning annually can help prevent future clogged drains.

Drain Rooter Service

We have specialized sewer rooters and hydro-jetting sewer machines to cut and remove tree roots that have invaded and clogged your main sewer lines.

Sewer Camera Inspections

We often conduct a video camera on a cable to inspect your sewer line before using a sewer snake or Jetter. Our video camera inspections help to identify blockages, damage, or other issues within the sewer lines so we can decide on the best drain cleaning method. Read more about our Video Camera Pipe Inspections.

Clogged Garbage Disposals

Clogged sink disposals happen at the worst times and can cause a backup into your dishwasher. A stopped-up garbage disposal is often caused by what you should never put down a garbage disposal: grease and fat, egg shells, starchy foods such as pasta and rice, peels from potatoes and root vegetables, fruit pits, seeds, and coffee grounds. Fibrous vegetables such as celery and onion peels can clog or even break your disposal. We can unclog your disposal and drain the backup in your sink.

Trenchless Sewer Line Repair

A damaged sewer line can cause backups in your floor drains, showers and more. We use specialized techniques like directional boring, pipe lining, pipe splitting, and pipe pulling to repair or replace damaged sewer lines without extensive digging. Rough-in Plumbing

Rough-in plumbing is the initial phase of plumbing installation in remodelling or new home or business construction. It involves laying the groundwork for the plumbing system before the walls and ceilings are closed up. Our Master Plumber installs water supply lines, drainpipes, and vent pipes during this stage, creating a framework for where fixtures like sinks, toilets, and showers will eventually connect. All the water supply and drainage system pipes are installed before the walls and ceilings are closed. It’s like setting the bones of the house’s plumbing system in place before we add finishing touches like fixtures and fittings.

Finish Plumbing

After the rough-in plumbing stage and once the walls and ceilings are closed up, our master plumber moves on to the finish plumbing stage. Finish plumbing is the stage where your plumbing system starts to take shape and become functional. Here’s what’s involved:

Installing Plumbing Fixtures: Setting up sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.
Connecting Appliances: Hooking up appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, water heaters, and other appliances to the plumbing system.
Water Supply Lines: Our plumbers ensure all fixtures and appliances are connected to the water supply lines laid during the rough-in phase.
Drain Connections: Attach drain lines to the plumbing fixtures and ensure proper wastewater flow.
Testing the Plumbing System: Checking for leaks, ensuring that all connections are secure, and verifying that the plumbing system works correctly.

Hot Water Heaters

Here are some of the Water Heater services Precision Underground Plumbing Services provides.

Water Heater Maintenance

Check the Temperature Setting: Ensure the thermostat is set to around 120°F (49°C) to prevent scalding and save energy.
Inspect the Anode Rod: The anode rod prevents corrosion. Check it annually and replace it if it’s heavily corroded.
Drain and Flush the Tank: Sediment buildup can reduce efficiency. Drain a few gallons of water from the tank every 6 months and perform a complete flush once a year.
Test the Pressure Relief Valve: Lift the valve’s lever and let it snap back. A burst of water should come out. If not, it might need replacing.
Check for Leaks: Inspect around the tank and plumbing connections for any signs of leaks.
Check the Heating Elements or Gas Burner: If you have an electric heater, inspect the heating elements. For gas heaters, check the burner and pilot light for proper operation.

Taking these steps can help keep your water heater running smoothly and efficiently!

Hot Water Heater Repairs

Water heaters, like any appliance, can face issues over time. Here are some common problems that we often repair:

Heating Elements: In electric water heaters, the heating elements can burn out and need replacement.
Thermostat Issues: Both electric and gas water heaters can have faulty thermostats that need adjustment or replacement.
Pressure Relief Valve: This water heater safety device can wear out or get stuck, requiring repair or replacement.
Anode Rod: If it becomes corroded, it needs replacement to protect the water heater tank from rusting.
Leaks: Leaks can occur from various parts of a water heater, such as the tank, valves, or connections. The source needs to be identified and repaired.
Pilot Light Issues: The pilot light can go out for gas water heaters due to issues with the thermocouple or gas valve.
Sediment Buildup: Sediment can accumulate in the water heater tank, reducing efficiency and causing noise. Flushing the tank can resolve this issue.
Dip Tube: The dip tube directs cold water to the bottom of the water heater tank. If it breaks, it can cause uneven heating and require replacement.
Gas Burner Issues: In gas water heaters, the burner can become dirty or malfunction, affecting performance.

Regular water heater maintenance can help prevent many of these problems, but if you do encounter any issues, call Precision Underground for a professional plumber to make the repairs.

Video Inspection of Sewer Lines

Video inspection of sewer lines is a game changer in plumbing. It involves using a small, waterproof camera on a flexible rod to navigate through the sewer pipe all the way to the municipal sewer system or septic tank. This allows the plumber to visually inspect the condition of the pipes and identify blockages, corrosion, breaks, or other issues without digging up the yard or parking areas.

Preventative Maintenance

Regular video inspections of your main sewer line can help catch potential issues before they become significant problems. Identifying problems early and fixing them can prevent more costly and extensive repairs in the future.

Pre-purchase Inspection for Home Buyers

A video camera inspection of the lateral sewer pipe offers several advantages for a potential home buyer:

Accurate Diagnosis: It provides a clear view of the interior of the sewer pipe, allowing for precise identification of any issues such as blockages, leaks, or damage.
Non-Invasive: Unlike traditional methods that require digging, this inspection only needs a small access point, minimizing disruption to your property.
Cost Savings: Having the seller address and issues before the sale will save you money on emergency repairs.

Replacing Damaged Pipes

When a pipe needs repair or replacement,  we have several methods to choose from, and the choice of method depends on factors such as the extent of damage, location of the pipe, budget, and the level of disruption that can be tolerated.

Old pipes on the ground

Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP)

CIPP is a trenchless method to re-line a damaged pipe. It involves inserting a flexible liner into the damaged pipe, which is then inflated and cured to form a new pipe within the old one. Pipes with cracks or leaks might be suitable for relining.

Excavation

This involves excavating the ground to remove and replace the damaged pipe with a new one. It’s a comprehensive solution for pipes with extensive damage or that have collapsed. Read more about Excavation for Utility Repairs.

Pipe Splitting

Pipe splitting is a trenchless method used to replace damaged pipes without the need for extensive excavation. Here’s how it works:

A splitting head with cutting blades is inserted into the existing pipe. The blades cut the pipe longitudinally, splitting it into segments along its length as a new pipe is simultaneously pulled into place in the same alignment as the old pipe.

This method causes less disruption to the surrounding area because there’s no need to dig up the entire length of the pipe.

Pipe Pulling

Pipe pulling is ideal for replacing old, damaged, or undersized pipes without extensive digging. It is also used with horizontal directional boring to lay a new pipe.

A cable is inserted through the existing pipe or the borehole and attached to a new pipe. A winch is used to pull the cable, which pulls the new pipe into place displacing the old pipe if there is one.
